Collins Bailey
Occupation: Businessman, Chairman of the Charles County Board of Education
Collins Bailey is currently running for U.S. Congressman, Maryland District 5.
Quotes:
"Our economy and our independence as a nation is increasingly in the hands of foreign governments such as China and Saudi Arabia, because their central banks also finance our runaway spending. We cannot continue to allow private banks, wasteful agencies, lobbyists, corporations on welfare, and governments collecting foreign aid to dictate the size of our ballooning budget. We need a new method to prioritize our spending. It's called the Constitution of the United States." -- Congressional Candidate Collins Baily, Maryland's 5th District
Moderator Notes:
Collins Bailey is a great example of what a true Constitutional candidate should stand for. He believes that if an individual disagrees with something in the Constitution, they should go about the proper course of changing the Constitution, not just ignoring it. This is exemplified by his desire to repeal the 16th Amendment. Bailey maintains that the Second Amendment to the Constitution protects an individual's right to keep and bear arms. He is currently serving his fourth consecutive term as a member of the Charles County Board of Education in Maryland, and will be opposing House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer in the 2008 General Election.
Collins Bailey won the Republican nomination for Maryland's fifth district.
