Tom Tancredo
Born: 1945
Occupation: Politician
Tom Tancredo is the incumbent U.S. Congressman representing Colorado District 6.
Quotes:
Here is a small sample of why we admire Congressman Tancredo:
One reason I am persona non grata at the White House is not just because of immigration, but because I refuse to support him on his trade policy, his education policy, Medicare and prescription drugs initiatives. Here was a Republican Congress increasing government to an extent larger than it had been increased since Medicare had come into existence.
Here is another that expresses our concerns with his foreign policy:
I continue to support increased funding for our armed services, and for increased readiness in our forces. We have seen and felt first hand what the effects of a depleted military can be. The Bush administration has done much to rebuild our military since 2000, but the post September 11th War on Terror has taught us that there is far more work to do.
Moderator Notes:
Tancredo is a member of Ron Paul's Liberty Committee.
He is a member of both the House Foreign Affairs and also the founder and former chairman of the bipartisan House Immigration Reform Caucus. In addition, Tom is a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Congressman Tancredo is not running for reelection and therefore we have decided to ignore some of his hawkishness and instead reward his consistent attention to (although not strict compliance with) the constitution as well as his consistent stance for fiscal responsibility.
